Aloha

Aloha
Feburary started out great!!Mike and I along with his brother, Mark and wife, Holly, went to Hawaii. Holly's family owns a condo at Turtle Bay....what a blast. We were right on the golf course and less than a stone's throw from the beach. Poor Mike ruptured his eardrum 2 days before we left, so he could not get into the water. We, however, didn't let that stop the rest of us. The waves were great!!! I would love to say we surfed all day, but like I said, the waves were great...meaning huge and too scary. We had wonderful food, fun and lots of sun....I still am such a sun worshipper! The guys golfed and golfed and golfed. I just love Hawaii. What a great place to spend our 37th anniversary.

In January we took a great trip to Las Vegas. There was a local special for the Lion King show so we all flew in from Texas and Utah to spend the weekend with Korryn. Our seats were great! The show was outstanding!! Fantastic Sushi for dinner...good thing they knew what to order!!! All in all, it was a wonderful weekend....girls only, no husbands and no kids!!!

Missing you Dad...

A Dad is a person
who is loving and kind,
And often he knows
what you have on your mind.
He's someone who listens,
suggests, and defends.
A dad can be one
of your very best friends!
He's proud of your triumphs,
but when things go wrong,
A dad can be patient
and helpful and strong
In all that you do,
a dad's love plays a part.
There's always a place for him
deep in your heart.
And each year that passes,
you're even more glad,
More grateful and proud
just to call him your dad!
Thank you, Dad...
for listening and caring,
for giving and sharing,
but, especially, for just being you

My dad, John Robert Young, "Jack" as known by everyone, died Oct. 18, 2009. He timed it perfectly! After a massive stroke on the morning of Oct. 17, 2009, with all of us with him, in his home, he quietly passed away. Sad as we all are, we know he is better off. We will all miss him so very much!!!!
